Comments from the bride via Magnolia Rouge:

“Our flowers were absolutely stunning! Our florist couldn’t have done a better job. She nailed it. I had a few different times when friends or family mentioned that they felt the flowers represented my personality to a tee! They really had the “princess” vibe that I love without it looking tacky. I think the darker tones off-set any chance of it looking “too pink.” The flowers were very elegant. My dress was a fitted PRONOVIA'S dress with lace sleeves. I wore a tulle skirt with a customized train to make it very dramatic for the ceremony. When it was time to party, I took that bad boy off and had my party dress on! Our cake had a rose gold trim to make it look like a flower blooming to go along with our spring awakening feel!”

Gold and Champagne Palette Inspiration

The gold and champagne inspiration came from Kristopher and Co., a husband and wife wedding planning team, who contacted us to create a three day business and creative workshop for them. Our great thanks to all of the vendors (who were a part of the day 3 shoot to highlight and capture the attendee's work) who continually bring so much of their talent and heart to these workshops. It is my great honor to host and design with you.

Thank you to Minnesota Bride Magazine for featuring this in your Spring/Summer 2018 issue

Design concept from our studio:

The Feel:

I wanted to create a story, not just a moment in time at an event, and chose the venue, Grand Cafe in Minneapolis, MN. Simply walking into this space you stand up a bit more straight, feel more elegant and yet, could be right at home and lounge on the plush seating. Where better to have a fashionable, small and detailed event? In the end, I wanted the final images to make you feel like you were with the couple at this gathering during their intimate event: pre-party, ceremony, post ceremony dinner and drinks, and finally leaving the venue.

The Flowers:

Inspired by the new, blush walls of the former bakery, now upscale French bistro, I drew from pastel colors found in modern florals using heirloom garden roses, enhanced orchids and waxy anthuriums and a nod to Minnesota with a green and white Lady Slipper orchid. The pearlescent / holographic effect and texture was used in the place cards, aqua dessert plates all the way to wardrobe. The venue’s 30s style pink champagne coups and our mirror table runner gave double the flowers and light.

The Final Look:

Everything needed to be clean, eye catching and refined.  I loved the way the venue space is already defined, requiring just the right amount of light and sparkle off of the tables and the wardrobe. I used the backdrop of green print wallpaper in the space and created a lux center floral design low enough for conversation.

My appreciation to all the vendors who were a part of this A List team.  You are true artists in the purest form.

Iris in June

A color study in our studio last June drawing inspiration from the soft, peachy hue of the locally grown iris against the rich, plum colored viburnum foliage with delicate pink blossoms. Soft lace and clean lines of a venue are one of our favorite things. Paired here with delicate, early spring flowers of anemone, ranunculus and eucalyptus.

Teaching in Montana

Montana and the floral, styling and coordinating force that is Greenwood Events, is a pleasure to witness. Thank you for bringing me to Green Valley Ranch to assistant teach at your workshop. Memories for a lifetime.  A pleasure designing this bouquet and table center during my time there, the foraging and blooms available in September are what dreams are made of.

Morning Elopement Styled Shoot

A late summer styled shoot where you could imagine a couple getting married at sunrise just as they climb out of their cozy tent. We designed a large dahlia and rose bouquet with handfuls of Silk and Willow ribbon and we were pleasantly surprised to find artemesia blooming in the golden field we were in. I placed some of the small, white flowers in her hair and hands as we were walking in the warm light.

Early Spring Workshop 2017

Teaching people floral design is one of my favorite things to do. In 2017, our studio's third year of holding a wedding workshop, I've decided to take it a step further and make it a three day, nonstop flowers event. The dates are February 27-March 1, 2017 in Minneapolis, MN. Details to follow soon. If you are interested in the next workshop contact info@ashleyfoxdesigns.com

Here are some images from our workshop this past February 2016. I demonstrated these 3 bouquets and 2 different ways to go about constructing them. The day concluded with visiting photographer Amanda Nippoldt and she captured it all with film photography. See the student designs in this post.

Spring in Montana

When Greenwood Events has a workshop (#thewildwestflowerworkshop) you leave feeling refreshed and filled to the brim with elegant ideas and business knowledge. Always and honor to assistant teach alongside this extraordinary woman and her team. The clematis caught my attention this time around so I made a bouquet and table center which included locally foraged  Solomon's Seal, spirea, lilac and other little, green clippings. Stone on napkin found on the property.

Our "How To" Card

Created for the purpose of helping clients and vendors receive the best images possible from their flower orders we called upon the help of local vendors Jill Elaine Designs and illustrator, @moonlicorice and we just love the result! After years of seeing boutonnieres pinned this way and that and bouquets held here and there we decided it was time to give a gentle reminder. The card is simple to customize per client's order with a little watercolor. Just another level of customization and care we give every order here at Ashley Fox Designs.
