Montana and the floral, styling and coordinating force that is Greenwood Events, is a pleasure to witness. Thank you for bringing me to Green Valley Ranch to assistant teach at your workshop. Memories for a lifetime. A pleasure designing this bouquet and table center during my time there, the foraging and blooms available in September are what dreams are made of.

A late summer styled shoot where you could imagine a couple getting married at sunrise just as they climb out of their cozy tent. We designed a large dahlia and rose bouquet with handfuls of Silk and Willow ribbon and we were pleasantly surprised to find artemesia blooming in the golden field we were in. I placed some of the small, white flowers in her hair and hands as we were walking in the warm light.

Teaching people floral design is one of my favorite things to do. In 2017, our studio's third year of holding a wedding workshop, I've decided to take it a step further and make it a three day, nonstop flowers event. The dates are February 27-March 1, 2017 in Minneapolis, MN. Details to follow soon. If you are interested in the next workshop contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Here are some images from our workshop this past February 2016. I demonstrated these 3 bouquets and 2 different ways to go about constructing them. The day concluded with visiting photographer Amanda Nippoldt and she captured it all with film photography. See the student designs in this post.

When Greenwood Events has a workshop (#thewildwestflowerworkshop) you leave feeling refreshed and filled to the brim with elegant ideas and business knowledge. Always and honor to assistant teach alongside this extraordinary woman and her team. The clematis caught my attention this time around so I made a bouquet and table center which included locally foraged Solomon's Seal, spirea, lilac and other little, green clippings. Stone on napkin found on the property.

Created for the purpose of helping clients and vendors receive the best images possible from their flower orders we called upon the help of local vendors Jill Elaine Designs and illustrator, @moonlicorice and we just love the result! After years of seeing boutonnieres pinned this way and that and bouquets held here and there we decided it was time to give a gentle reminder. The card is simple to customize per client's order with a little watercolor. Just another level of customization and care we give every order here at Ashley Fox Designs.
You can find these in our online shop. 10 in a package. Comes with 10, clear, cello slips for protecting the card on delivery.
Here's to better photos for all!
I have the hardest time editing down the images I post for these workshops. The beauty the visiting students created is too good to miss. They each created two bouquets. The first, a more classic size and shape. The second, a more dramatic and statement making design. We fit in a lot during these one day workshops: business conversation on consultations and ordering/buying, bouquet making techniques and a photo shoot to support each student's portfolio. Never a dull moment and never without incredible flowers. Special thanks to Amanda Nippoldt for these images. Her film photography and discerning eye captured these early spring flowers like nothing else. Also, to the students who came from Honeysuckle Hollow Florist and Alissa's Flower Farm. What an amazing group of women who love flowers as much as I do.
I'm already looking forward to next year's workshop. We are planning on doing a two day course around the same time next year with emphasis on all of the above with the inclusion of arbor construction, all followed by a photo shoot on the second day. Of course we take requests! If there is something you have been wanting to learn we would love to gear our plan in that direction. Inquiries for setting a date for next year February to email@example.com

A refreshing, summer wedding at Calhoun Beach Club for Jill + Dave. All the maids wore flowers in their hair and smiles on their faces. It was truly one of those fabulous, great days. I do love a happy wedding party. Jill and Dave, your families are the sweetest and it was a pleasure designing for all of you!

"Industrial, Pacific Northwest." Bride and Groom's hopes for their decor at the Solar Arts Building in August.
I couldn't wait to get their 36' of greens, lights and white flowers down the aisle that day. The smiles that followed I will never forget.
The family built the front ceremony wall where we placed dozens of fern "growing" right up the side and candles sitting below. The suspended wood shelves near the dance floor held even more candles. There were candles and smiles and happy, joyful people everywhere that day.
My friends, Britt and Dave, thank you both for your vision and excitement for this day; it's a favorite!
And everyone should have a donut bar at their wedding. Can this be the new tradition please?

We fit in a little engagement shoot during our visit to California this month. He was such a sport, driving to Petaluma towards Garden Valley Ranch to see Fallon and grab the incredible roses she had harvested (in abundance!) for me. Of course, they were perfect and our rental vehicle smelled amazing all week. Perks.
There has been so much to celebrate and be thankful for this year and California, one of my favorite places, was the best spot we could think of to end the year.
Samantha Kirk, we are overjoyed by your work and cannot say enough good things about you and your calm, patient and kind nature. Your clients are some of the luckiest around.

Darci Greenwood, of Beargrass Gardens, invited me to her home state of Montana last September to be an assistant teacher at her first Wild West Flower Workshop. Not a moment passed during this experience where I didn't want to pinch myself and say "Is this really happening; how could I be so lucky?!!" Darci created an incredibly moving and fulfilling experience, personally and professionally, for the staff and students who attended and stayed at Green Valley Ranch. The landscape, flowers and instant sense of community made us all feel right at home and ready to take in everything about this business of flowering.
Day one we chatted about business and made luxurious bridal bouquets. I was so inspired by autumn's golden fern growing on site I created a blushy/buttercream colored design using foliage that grew on the edges of the lodge property. Day two the students created centerpieces and watched while Darci helped each attendee style his/her table setting with The Top collection of table and glassware for each student's portfolio use. Our stay concluded with a farewell dinner set at the base of the lodge overlooking the mountains. The table included designs by the instructors, large glowing candles and tableware all set by Darci. To say it was magical would be the biggest understatement of my life.
Many thank yous to Darci and her team including Arden, Jesse, Rebecca and fellow assistant instructor Nancy, of Oak and Owl. These women are forever in my heart. From the moment I got off the plane, it was like having an instant family. Not a bad way to spend a work week.

This shoot celebrates the progress my business has made over the years and the solid friendships that have grown out of vendor collaborations. Tasha, of Red Bird Hills, was the first to shoot my work those 7 years ago and I haven't looked back since with her. Many other friendships have come out of this avenue my life has taken from growers, photographers, brides, other floral designers--it's been an extraordinary and heart warming experience, this wedding biz of ours. And we were treated to a pretty plaque this past July when we won Minnesota Bride Magazine's Award for Best of Floral 2015. So thankful to MN Bride Magazine for their support over the years. Beyond thankful for their friendship and shout outs. Talk about heart warming...
Also, how luscious are these photos?!!?!!! I can't take my eyes away, they are so beautiful. Krista, you were incredible. Thank you for your grace and beauty and traveling the distance to work with us! x

We've done quite a few installations using flowers, greens and even tumbleweed once in many different venues and spaces this past year. Here's a quick look taken right from our Instagram feed and some from our talented, photographer-friends.
